I recently did a bit of a crash course in DSLR and consequently shot and edited an entire product catalogue (1500+) for a newly launched website. Having actually achieved something that actually is an achievement, it seems like I have a bit of a DSLR bug, and I found myself buying the cheapest one I could find on eBay in order to keep up the work. The lucky chosen one was the Sony Alpha a230 - a model I have NOT read decent reviews about. It's not as nearly as good as the model I used for my recent project, but I'm determined to make it work by running a few experiments.
In true oldschool stylee, you can only see what you're taking by looking through the viewfinder. I'm not completely opposed to this, as it reminds me of my teenage days where I would turn up to Boots every lunchtime to hand in yet another disposable camera to be processed. But wow - it's not so comfy on the nose.
Comfort aside, I have no budget to be investing in something that is easy on the nose or any other body part, so like I said - I'm going to carry out a few experiments to try and make it work. Like I also said - I've come full circle, so saw no better first place to take the cam for a wander than in Lowestoft (the subject of aforementioned first ever post). This mini-project was mainly to find how the Sony's aperture and focus worked, as well as a concentration on the pretty cool colours that flaunted themselves naturally into the lens.
